Ekabo /Welcome
We pay homage to Olodumare for allowing us life and the mission to serve. We give homage to Orunmila, Orisa and the Egun for their assistance on this important journey/mission. We pray that this endeavor encourages, inspires, supports and develops a positive face for Ifa/Orisa worship in the U.S. and around the world.
Oselogbe Ifa Temple was created by a group of concerned Ifa/Orisa devotees who wished to create an environment of respect, accountability, mutual esteem and communal worship that spanned across African Diasporal lines and divisions. Oselogbe Ifa Temple was started by the Odunade family in 2006 in Atlanta, GA. Oselogbe Ifa Temple set out to establish visible unity amongst Orisa practitioners by creating unified worship, ritual and outreach involving different lineages. We believe that this will create stronger bonds with practioners worldwide. Those efforts have birthed ATR collaborations between the Ifa, Akan, Lukumi, Santeria and Vodun communities that operate with balanced character and respect.
OIT has been a stronghold for learning and training in Ifa/Orisa practices, producing functional, confident devotees, practitioners and priests of all ages.
Our House follows the teachings and directives of Odu Ifa and strives to adhere to the simple and reverent pattern of worship taught to us by our Oluwo, Agbongbon Kayode Faniyi of Osogbo, Nigeria. We confess the infallibility and inerrancy of Odu Ifa, and our practitioners subscribe to the whole doctrine of Ifa as practiced worldwide. We believe that achieving spiritual alignment is more than a mere acceptance of Ifa doctrine. It is not enough that omo Orisa be educated in traditional African principles. Each worshipper needs to create a personal relationship with the Orisa, arts and the ancestors while striving to embody the standard of balanced character.
